Beware of Hidden Office Dangers

Thousands of workers are injured in office settings each year from being struck by or caught by an object. Here are two ways you can stay safer while on assignment:

  1. Shut drawers. Open cabinet door corners are sharp -- and cut easily. In addition, file cabinets with too many fully extended drawers present tip hazards if not properly secured. So when not in use, always close drawers fully.
  2. Stack safely. Properly storing heavy items can reduce office injuries. Always store heavy objects close to the floor, and observe load capacity limitations of shelves and storage units.

Alkar Human Resources wants you to stay safe on the job. If your job responsibilities change, or if you observe dangerous conditions while on assignment with our client, report them to your staffing coordinator immediately.
