Prevent Ergonomics Injuries
If you spend the bulk of your day seated at a desk and working on a computer, protect yourself from common strains and injuries related to posture and repetitive movement:
- Adjust your equipment (chairs, keyboards, mouse location, etc.) so it's comfortable to use. If you're on assignment and working with unfamiliar equipment, ask your supervisor to demonstrate key adjustability features.
- Keep your feet on the floor. Reduce pain and discomfort by NOT crossing your legs while you work, and by lowering your seat so your heels are on the ground.
- Use document holders to reduce neck strain and muscle imbalance caused by repeatedly looking down at the desk and back at a computer screen.
